My painting grows from a broad curiosity about culture, history and the world around us. Art history and travel are recurring sources of inspiration, but the paintings are not confined to a single tradition: I move between portraiture, landscape and imagined worlds.

I am particularly interested in bringing classical subjects into dialogue with humour, symbolism and surrealism. Across these different approaches, colour, atmosphere and careful observation remain central to my work.

The works shown here are selected examples from my paintings.

Portraits

Portraiture is an exercise in both likeness and presence. I am interested in the small asymmetries, expressions and shifts of colour through which an individual character emerges.

Landscapes

In landscapes, light becomes the subject as much as the place itself. Some paintings begin with direct observation, others with travel, memory or the atmosphere of older landscape traditions.

Surrealism

Here classical architecture, sculpture, animals and unexpected objects inhabit the same pictorial space. Memory and imagination loosen ordinary time and scale, allowing familiar elements to form new, deliberately open narratives.

Replicas

Copying a masterwork is a way of studying a painting from the inside: its rhythm, colour relationships and construction. These works are studies after historical originals, clearly distinguished from my own compositions.
